You need to be here to feel the pulse of most Americans, who’re not excited and didn’t find what Trump is doing funny, and who don’t pretend in their dislike and hatred of him , as the boss of the White Supremacists Group , whose lawlessness and reckless disregard to what America stands for, totally negate civility in the American Culture, Politics,Democracy , Justice System and Dream .
Recall that Trump explored the feelings of frustration , anger, disappointment , displeasure and despair of those red necks or white supremacists, who felt alienated and forgotten, to cling back to power , in order to escape imprisonment and retinue of legal convictions and punishment underlying his indictment for crimes , misdemeanors and misconduct, against the US Justice and Legal Systems .
Unfortunately, he got caught up in one conviction of the hush money porn star that made him carry the stigma of a convicted felon for life , however symbolic it may be , before taking his oath of office for the second time as President .
If he doesn’t take his time, this moment around, he may spend the next 4 years, fighting internal wars with democratic forces and all those impacted by his desperate moves to dominate the country he felt did not treat him fairly, for crimes he actually committed .
Going forward, his roll of executive orders and actions , will face and be tested by spate of legal actions and challenges, creating more uneasy circumstances and difficulties in the prosecution of his ambitious programs of action .
America is not like Nigeria where anything goes .
The power of democracy here , rests squarely with the people, who have the power to decide the fate of the government and those in office, without whose influence democratic governance and institutions , will be mere window dressing .
America is a nation of laws and leader of the free world, where democracy is at work and where nobody, not even the President is above the law .
That’s why the all round majority being commanded by Trump’s Republican Party, may evaporate and lost in the next 2 years , before the next Congressional Elections, when American Voters , will assess President Trump’s Performance in office and whether he delivered on campaign promises or not .
Periodically, the performance of the President and other political office holders, are assessed and rated in comparison with those who held those positions and offices in the past , unlike in Nigeria and other African nations , where the citizens fail and neglect to rate and assess the performances of their political representatives in office .
Ours in Nigeria and Africa, should be to concern ourselves with overcoming the negative forces and leadership culture that made our democracy toxic , divisive, corrupt, dangerous, flawed, sickening, inimical, cynical , unfortunate , unproductive and unacceptable to the people, who’re constantly at the receiving end and odds with the political gladiators and enemies of our democratic system .
Again, all the maga maga show of imakwa ndi anyi bu now in America, between Trump and the nation’s Billionaires , most of whom are CEOs of Giant Corporations and Tech Companies , will soon frizzle out of vogue, when friction, scandal and true partisanship, take the center stage of US Politics .
How long such romance and friendship will last, is anybody’s guess .
What we’re witnessing now, is a passing phase like the passage of time, that will enable us judge events .
Let the political game play on , while Americans take Trump’s unfolding actions with a pinch of salt in the course of the coming weeks, months and years of vhis Presidency, when he’s expected to receive blind bulldozer support and cooperation from his party members in Congress and the US Supreme Court and after, what next ?
Time will tell if President Trump will make good his promises on his robust reform agenda or he would be cajoled and mesmerized by those who hitherto believed in him and later became victims of his inexcusable betrayal .
For now , it’s sit down, watch and pray, as Trump scatters the bees , which could hunt and hurt him and direct victims of his presidential actions .
